Leadership Marshall INVOLVEMENT
Involvement
Each year, the Leadership Marshall class begins with an orientation meeting in which
participants meet one another and receive an overview of the program. Monthly meetings,
beginning in March, take place at various locations throughout the community, providing
opportunities for class members to sharpen their communications and problem solving
skills through a variety of interactive sessions. These day-long seminars focus on
specific topics vital to the community and ends with a LEADERSHIP MARSHALL
Awards Banquet in August.
- Leadership/Personal Development
- County/City Government
- Business & Industry
- Education
- Health Care
- Quality of Life
Annually the Chamber of Commerce takes a trip to the Capitol,
Austin one year, Washington, the next. The participants will be encouraged to
take this trip with the Chamber leadership.
Schedule
The program begins in March and culminates with an Awards Banquet in August. Sessions begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The group will travel together, so promptness is important.
Participant Responsibilities
Attendance is mandatory, and all participants must make a firm commitment to be present at all sessions. Participation in the opening session is particularly critical, and there may be nor more than two absences for any of the remaining sessions. Participants not adhering to these requirements will be automatically dropped from the program with no portion of the tuition refunded. Involvement in Leadership Marshall does not end with the Awards Banquet. Graduates are expected to assume an active role in the Marshall Chamber of Commerce as a volunteer.
Fees
The fee for the program is $350 and may be paid by the participant's employer or by the participant or a sponsoring organization. Those wishing to participate in trips to the Capitol will be assessed an additional amount to cover those expenses.
Recognition
Leadership participants will be recognized at the Marshall Chamber Banquet, highlighted in the Chamber newsletter and featured on our www.marshalltxchamber.com website.
